Sweeney Todd is a fantastic musical thriller that has been performed in theatres and opera houses throughout the world. The music lends itself well to both classical and musical theatre singers.
Sweeney Todd is the story of Benjamin Barker who is wrongfully convicted of crimes he did not commit and sent to Botany Bay. Upon his return, he becomes intent on seeking revenge on those who destroyed his life and family. He restarts his barber business under the name Sweeney Todd, and together with his unscrupulous neighbour, Mrs Lovett, proceeds to slim down the population of London, whilst at the same time providing excellent filling for Mrs Lovett’s meat pies!
