Bedfordshire Festival of Music, Speech and Drama 2016

9 November 2015

The Bedfordshire Festival of Music, Speech and Drama this year takes place between 5 – 12 March 2016.

We do hope you will consider entering. It’s not only a fantastic opportunity for you to showcase your talents and build confidence but could also provide a useful ‘test’ run for forthcoming exams or recitals. As an added incentive, there are several monetary prizes and trophies on offer!

*Closing date for entries is 1 December 2015*

Click on the following link to the 2016 Syllabus, which details all the available classes, along with the rules of entry www.bedfordshirefestival.org.uk/Home/Syllabus

The instrumental classes are featured between pages 21-37 including solo graded and duet classes. Do also take a look at the Miscellaneous Classes, which feature classes open to any instruments, such as the Anniversary Class (for 2016 music by Richard Rodney Bennett or Erik Satie), Versatility Class (for talented performers equally skilled in two instruments), Instrument/Piano Duo Class, or Concerto Class.

Do you belong to an orchestra, chamber group or music group? See pages 29-32 for a range of classes suited to different ensembles.

For singers, there are a wide range of classes available for duet and solo singing on pages 14-16, including folk song and the ever popular Musical Theatre, as well as opera. And if you are a member of a choir or choral group, the Choir classes (pages 12-13) are always a highlight of the Festival!

In recent years, we’ve also seen many musicians explore some of the Speech and Drama classes in the Festival too. Do browse through the Speech and Drama classes between pages 38-51. 2016 could be the year to try something new too!

Entries are made online via our website and the closing date for entries is Tuesday 1 December 2015.

We do hope you will be encouraged to take part and look forward to seeing you in March.
