Youth Opera 2023 Production

We are excited to announce our 2023 production will be Jules Massenet’s Cinderella (Cendrillon).

This opera is based on the classic tale and includes all the usual characters and some of the events; the sisters, the stepmother, the father, Prince Charming, Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother and a grand ball. However in this tale, after the ball Cinderella and Prince Charming get lost in the woods, and when Cinderella wakes from a deep sleep, she finds herself back at home in bed. Was the whole thing a dream?

The opera offers excellent opportunities for young singers aged between 14 and 26 at different levels of study, as well as some challenging chorus work and dance sequences.

Once you have accepted a principal or chorus role, you will be expected to attend all the rehearsals that you are scheduled for during the summer course. The schedule will be released as soon as possible after casting.

Cost of the summer course: £255

During the course we will also be rehearsing for a Gala Concert to be performed in Luton to fundraise and promote the opera performances.
