Support Us

Since the Bedfordshire Music Trust was formed in 2001 we have helped thousands of young people across the county develop their musical skills with our courses, concerts, workshops and a wide range of unique and exciting musical opportunities.

With the cutbacks in government funding there are now fewer opportunities for young people to learn an instrument. Public money is focused on giving every young child a brief introduction to playing an instrument or singing. But there is little support for developing their talents beyond that stage. Without that support our strong musical heritage will decline, affecting those who play and those who enjoy listening to music.

Bedfordshire Music Trust, a registered charity, is committed to providing that support. We receive no government subsidy but rely on grants and donations which help us to reach all young people by keeping our courses fees low. With help from our donors we can:

  •   Provide discounted or free places to those from disadvantaged backgrounds
  •   Develop new projects which encourage music making
  •   Continue to provide high-quality tuition from professional musicians and teachers

If you have been involved with our courses before you will probably have seen the impact that they make to a young child’s development.

How you can help?

Did you know that you can donate to your favourite charity while shopping on-line? We are registered with easyfundraising, Give as You Live and Amazon Smile.  It is quick and easy for you to register with these websites and choose Bedfordshire Music Trust as your chosen charity. There are over 3,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation, including Amazon, John Lewis, Aviva, thetrainline, booking.com and Sainsbury’s – it doesn’t cost you a penny extra! Every time you buy something using one of these sites the retailer will make a donation.

If you are able to make a direct donation then please use the button below. And if you are a UK taxpayer we can receive gift aid on your behalf, to make your donation go further.

We need your help to continue giving young people the gift of music. Thanks for your support.
